Energy Systems Engineering

INTRODUCTION

Energy Systems Engineering is a multidisciplinary program that draws upon knowledge and applications from physical sciences, mathematics and diversified engineering approaches on environment, energy resources, conservation and management. The program would encompass both renewable and non-renewable energy production and their effects on environment.

Energy Systems Engineering is an expansive field that aims to meet the current demands of energy sector. Domain of Energy Engineering caters the core areas from the field of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. The program provides fundamental engineering knowledge in areas of energy generation, hybrid energy systems, electrical power systems, conversion & energy management, conservation along with modules on energy sources, energy policy, economics & associated environmental issues.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

Keeping in view the need of the hour, this program aims at addressing the situation from a multi-faceted perspective. As service to the country and industry, the program focuses on providing the necessary skilled personnel for the currently crisis-laden but potentially flourishing energy industry of the country. Graduate of the program will be able to understand engineering fundamentals and apply that knowledge to solving problems in the production, processing storage, distribution and utilization of energy using multiple techniques such as synthesis, analysis, design and case studies and to incorporate with the agricultural processes. For students, it gives an opportunity to embark on a remarkable journey filled with potentially high job opportunities both in the domestic as well as in the foreign markets.

The main goals and objectives of Energy Systems Engineering are to produce engineers:

  1. To contribute in the field of Energy Systems Engineering focusing on renewable energy systems.
  2. To serve corporate enterprises and to initiate entrepreneurship with their acquired scientific and technical skills.
  3. To understand contemporary issues and the impacts of technology on society and environment.
  4. To demonstrate intellectual capabilities in research and practical engineering problems.
  5. To possess technical engineering skills to function effectively in the work environment as well as in the society.
