This text explores genres of poetry in three ways as Matter, Subjects, and method. The matter is made up of language, melody, and rhythm which form the creation of Poetics. Subject differentiates between tragedy and comedy, where tragedy comprises of important, serious, and virtuous people, and comedy comprises of laughable, unimportant, and undignified.
